Through its subsidiary CNA Financial Corporation, Loews operates one of the largest commercial property and casualty insurance companies in the United States, offering insurance products including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, commercial auto, surety, medical professional liability, and other specialty insurance lines. The company holds a majority interest in Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP, which owns and operates natural gas transportation pipelines in North America. Loews Hotels & Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary, operates a collection of luxury and upscale hotels. Additionally, the company maintains a significant investment portfolio of cash equivalents, fixed maturity securities, equity securities, partnership interests, and other investments. The company's diversified portfolio of businesses and investments is designed to generate long-term shareholder value.
