American Tower Corporation is a leading global real estate investment trust (REIT) that owns, operates and develops multitenant communications real estate. The company operates a portfolio of approximately 150,000 communications sites globally, including approximately 42,000 sites in the U.S. and Canada and over 107,000 sites in international markets, spanning more than 20 countries. The company operates through five property segments (U.S. and Canada, Africa and APAC, Europe, Latin America, and Data Centers) and a services segment. American Tower leases space on its tower sites and other real estate to wireless carriers, broadcast operators, government agencies and other telecommunications infrastructure providers. The company also operates 30 data center facilities across 11 U.S. markets. American Tower generates revenue from both non-lease property revenue (from tenant rents) and services revenue (from site management and other services). The company is focused on connectivity infrastructure supporting wireless, cloud and AI demand, with emphasis on developed markets, operational efficiency, capital discipline and shareholder value creation.
