Waste Management, Inc. is a holding company and North America's leading provider of comprehensive environmental solutions. Through its subsidiaries, the Company provides services throughout the United States and Canada. The Company is engaged in the collection, transfer, disposal, recycling and resource recovery of waste materials, and operates the largest network of landfills in North America with 257 landfill sites. The Company also operates 342 transfer stations (excluding those acquired from Stericycle) that consolidate, compact and transport waste efficiently. Through its Waste Management Renewable Energy segment, the Company is a leading developer, operator and owner of landfill gas-to-energy facilities that produce renewable electricity and renewable natural gas (RNG), which is allocated to its natural gas fleet. Following the 2024 acquisition of Stericycle, Inc., the Healthcare Solutions segment provides regulated waste and compliance services and secure information destruction services in the U.S., Canada and Western Europe. The Company is also a leading recycler in the U.S. and Canada, handling paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and metal materials through its Recycling Processing and Sales segment. The Company's strategy focuses on leveraging its extensive asset network to drive best-in-class customer experience and growth through focused differentiation and continuous improvement, while advancing sustainability and environmental stewardship goals.
