Occidental Petroleum Corporation is an international energy company that conducts oil and gas operations, midstream and marketing operations, and low-carbon venture initiatives. The company is one of the largest oil and gas producers in the U.S., holding leading positions in the Permian and DJ Basins as well as offshore Gulf of America, and is the largest independent oil producer in Oman. The company operates in international markets including the Middle East and North Africa, with operations in Algeria, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. The oil and gas segment focuses on crude oil, natural gas liquids and natural gas exploration, development and production. The midstream and marketing segment provides flow assurance, optimizes value of oil and gas operations, and includes Oxy Low Carbon Ventures (OLCV), which develops decarbonization technologies including direct air capture, carbon sequestration and lithium development. The company completed a decade-long portfolio transformation resulting in a 16.5 billion barrel of oil equivalent resource base, and divested its chemical business (OxyChem) in 2025.
