The company designs and manufactures advanced cadmium telluride (CdTe) thin film PV solar modules that provide competitive advantages over conventional crystalline silicon modules, including superior temperature coefficient performance in high insolation climates, better spectral response in humid environments, improved partial shading response, and immunity to cell cracking. First Solar's modules are produced using a fully integrated, continuous manufacturing process that does not rely on Chinese crystalline silicon supply chains. The company operates a global manufacturing footprint including facilities in the United States, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India, and produces Series 7 modules featuring a larger form factor and innovative steel back rail mounting structure that reduces installation time. First Solar combines advanced R&D capabilities with responsible solar commitments, including the fastest energy payback time and smallest carbon footprint of any commercially available PV solar technology on a lifecycle basis. The company has established industry-leading recycling programs that recover more than 90% of module materials for reuse and has recycled more than 400,000 metric tons of PV modules. First Solar maintains financial stability and provides meaningful warranties to customers.
